Solid Brass Vintage Door Knob Spindle Set, 2-1/4 In. Outside Diameter, Bronze (Single Pack)

These vintage-style door knobs are constructed from solid brass and feature a classic bronze finish. The set is designed for indoor use only, comprising a 17/64-inch x 3-1/2-inch steel spindle with 3/8-inch-20 threads. This classic-style knob set is compatible with square drive spindle systems commonly found in antique and vintage door hardware, and can accommodate varying door thicknesses.

The shanks on these knobs include set screws for fastening them to the square spindle. However, the set does not include the internal mortise lock body, door rosettes, trim and strike plates, or the latch and fasteners, which must be purchased separately. Note that this item cannot be used on pre-bored doors with large, newer-style door knob holes without first preparing the surface to receive the hardware. To do this, the large 2-1/8-inch (approximate size) holes must be filled with a hardening filler, such as Fix-It-All® or Bondo Body Filler®, to provide a solid surface for the rosette fasteners (purchased separately). Care must be taken to avoid damaging any pre-finished door surfaces during this process.

Additionally, it is recommended to apply a small amount of Loctite ThreadLocker 271® to the set screw threads to prevent them from loosening.
